Offended Or In Rest?

It's interesting what offends people in the heart. Today, we live in a world where offense is being taken right and left about a myriad of social, religious, cultural, gender, political, and biblical issues. In gentleness, being offended is a sign of not being rooted and secure in the truth of God. I know that's offensive, yet that was and still is proven by Jesus. He was not offended in the slightest during his life and death because he was rooted in the truth. Even our sin does not offend him....AMAZINGLY! Because of that pimps, prostitutes, pornographers, pedophiles, homosexuals, adulterers, transgendered, hypocrites, liars, thieves, the prideful, complainers, murderers, the greedy, the lazy, the self righteous....all of us sinners can be rescued by Jesus out of those ways; out of the same world; out of the same boat. Is that Offensive? Today that is very offensive, but at the right time in every situation Jesus responded in truth: loving, correcting and even rebuking. He never was offended by people, and he was not afraid to speak in authority about it. He proclaimed  to be "The Way, The Truth and The Life", and for all to repent of their sins, but people were offended by that because those words spoke contrary to the way of the world. The offended usually do not realize the eternal gravity of sin's wage of death NOR the eternal gravity of Christ's perfect love in salvation. Everyone takes offense, but Christ does not. What if this doesn't make us stop and think about our positions on everything?  What are you offended by? Does our world want the truth proclaimed or silenced? Does the world love the things of God? The answer to those questions are obvious, but is it offensive or loving to warn, "Don't refuse to believe the truth of God!" Remember, Jesus was in much sorrow over Jerusalem's rejection of him, but he wasn't offended. He still went to the cross. It's the same with our hearts. He's sorrowful when we reject him, but he isn't offended. He did what was right and true and still died and rose for us!

Ultimately, it is a blessing to get to the root of a matter, because then you are really understanding it. And if you are understanding it the next step is to humbly adjust and rest in the truth on that issue. You have finally died to it and can let God's truth speak to it no matter if that position is cool or unpopular in the world. It's better to believe and live in the truth then in lies. If my heart is offended, I am off of the truth some how, and I have to work to learn what the Holy Spirit is saying about that matter in the Bible.

“Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you realize you offended the Pharisees by what you just said?””
Matthew 15:12 NLT

“So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.”
1 Corinthians 1:23 NLT

“And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.””
Matthew 13:57 NLT

“Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.”
Mark 6:3 NLT

“Dear brothers and sisters, if I were still preaching that you must be circumcised—as some say I do—why am I still being persecuted? If I were no longer preaching salvation through the cross of Christ, no one would be offended.”
Galatians 5:11 NLT

“Jesus was aware that his disciples were complaining, so he said to them, “Does this offend you?” John 6:61 NLT

“Instead, you are trying to kill me because I told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing.”
John 8:40 NLT

“But we want to hear what you believe, for the only thing we know about this movement is that it is denounced everywhere.””
Acts of the Apostles 28:22 NLT

“Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
Psalms 139:24 NLT

“I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations even as I am praying for them!”
Psalms 109:4 NLT

“I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it.” John 12:47 NLT

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” Colossians 3:13 NLT

“And tell him, ‘God blesses those who do not turn away because of me. ’”” Matthew 11:6 NLT

“Not finding them there, they dragged out Jason and some of the other believers instead and took them before the city council. “Paul and Silas have caused trouble all over the world,” they shouted, “and now they are here disturbing our city, too. And Jason has welcomed them into his home. They are all guilty of treason against Caesar, for they profess allegiance to another king, named Jesus.””
Acts of the Apostles 17:6-7 NLT

“When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.”
Isaiah 53:11 NLT

The Eternal Substance of Your Faith In Christ

Faith is a GiFt. It's the gift of Faith's sUbStAnCe that lasts forever. It comes from reading and hearing the Bible.

Times change and people change, but God (Jesus) never changes. Jesus is the SuBsTaNcE.

He's the rebuilder, the restorer, the savior and so much more. He's steady, unwavering, constant and more. Jesus, his Word, is reliable, dependable, trustworthy and more.

There are many instances in people's lives where their "faith ship" was headed toward the rocky shores head long for ship wreck. Ready for a capsize, ready to sink! But FAITH in the Lord Jesus always comes to the rescue. Faith is being heart and mind connected to the Lord, and he always can restore his relationship with you when you keep believing in him. We move away, he doesn't at all, and we move back toward him because of His Love.

Move toward Jesus today....the Faith Builder.

“The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"”
Luke 17:5 ESV

“holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith,”
1 Timothy 1:19 ESV

“for we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” Romans 10:17 NLT

“He said to them, "Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?"”
Mark 4:40 ESV

“Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."” Matthew 9:29 ESV

“to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit," 1 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1 NLT

““I know all the things you do. I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things.”
Revelation 2:19 NLT

“Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.”
1 Timothy 1:19 NLT

““To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.”
2 Samuel 22:26 NLT

“He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.” Proverbs 2:8 NLT

“When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.”
Romans 1:12 NLT

“There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,”
Ephesians 4:5 NLT

“If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.” 2 Timothy 2:13 NLT

Psalm 38- Express Your Need For Jesus Christ

Have you ever cried out to a living God? There are many gods inside the heart of men, but there is only one living God outside the hearts of men. Best of all, He's a living God who desires to reside inside the heart of man. His Holy Spirit hears the cries of men and cares deeply...personally! Psalm 38 helps us to verbalize and understand WHY we need the Lord Jesus to come inside. Think of all the people in the world who know they are truly desperate for a living God they can trust and rest in. These are the people who are seeing and experiencing the desperate circumstance and need of man. In their waiting, seeking and crying out how awesome is it that Jesus shows up! There's a revival happening in India, Iran, and little towns in the USA. The Church is alive in China. Israel is looking for the Messiah. Praise God that He has come toward us in his Grace in our desperate need.

“O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath! For your arrows have sunk into me, and your hand has come down on me. There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation; there is no health in my bones because of my sin. For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me. My wounds stink and fester because of my foolishness, I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all the day I go about mourning. For my sides are filled with burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh. I am feeble and crushed; I groan because of the tumult of my heart. O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you. My heart throbs; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes—it also has gone from me. My friends and companions stand aloof from my plague, and my nearest kin stand far off. Those who seek my life lay their snares; those who seek my hurt speak of ruin and meditate treachery all day long. But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear, like a mute man who does not open his mouth. I have become like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth are no rebukes. But for you, O Lord, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer. For I said, "Only let them not rejoice over me, who boast against me when my foot slips!" For I am ready to fall, and my pain is ever before me. I confess my iniquity; I am sorry for my sin. But my foes are vigorous, they are mighty, and many are those who hate me wrongfully. Those who render me evil for good accuse me because I follow after good. Do not forsake me, O Lord! O my God, be not far from me! Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!”
Psalms 38:1-22 ESV

Then and Now / Past and Present

Progressions and positions of status regarding a person's faith or personal relationship with the God of the Bible:

*"I believe there is no God"
*"I believe I am my own God"
*"I believe I am not God"
*"I believe in a God"
*"I believe the Bible is God's Word and absolute truth inspired by the Holy Spirit through men"
*"I believe the Father (Elohim) is God, and I believe the Son Jesus Christ is God, and I believe the Holy Spirit is God (I believe The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One God in Three Co-Equal Distinct Persons)"
*"I believe God is Sovereign, and I trust in each Person's role within the Triune God over my life and in all things in heaven and earth."
*"I believe God loves me perfectly and is conforming me into His image, and I will worship and enjoy Him forever."

----------------------------------
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen....By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible....And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
Hebrews 11:1, 3, 6 ESV

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”
Colossians 2:6-7 ESV

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,” Ephesians 2:8 ESV

1 Corinthians 2:5 / So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God. (Amplified Bible).

Hebrews 10:22-23 / Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water. So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word. (Amplified Bible).

Everything Is On Time

Everything is On Time

God prepares all things good for a specific time and purpose. He responds and reacts to all our human choices, whether good or bad, in perfect wisdom... be it judgements or blessings. Both his judgements and blessing are good, and on time.

Is God really silent when atrocities occur and swift judgement doesn't fall? Does it mean he doesn't care when those faithful toward him or the innocent are kIlled and he doesn't stop it? Do we understand all things? God truly is sovereign over all, and we can surrender our trust to that. God knows the hearts of men, and he cares deeply that none should perish in an eternity of torment because of their sins. That's the bottom line issue. He knows who will repent no matter the state of their heart today, and he knows who the stiff necked rebellious are who will continue to shake their fists in defiance at him. He sent wayward Jonah to Ninevah and they repented, and he destroyed Sodom and Gomorah after faithful intercession for any righteous in that city by Abraham!

We live in times where evil seems to be getting the upper hand, and is allowed to grow and fester and do its damage, but what does God think? Is He silent in it all? Do we know what's happening behind the scenes? God is pulling people out of sexual immorality today, out of terrorism, our of corrupt living in lies and deceitfulness, out of wastefulness and laziness, out of hatred and murder, out of empty religion. Out of captivity! At the same time, he knows of the underground hidden tunnels of sin in our hearts, our lands, our ruling bodies. He knows all things, and He faithfully warns us in the Bible that, outside of Jesus Christ, he will judge sin, and he will judge all unrighteousness in a very swift manner at the right time. The closer we get to all hell breaking out on earth, and God's translation of his children out, and Jesus Christ return it is going to get more and more intense. Evil will get bolder, Good will shout louder warnings. The earth and heavens will shake and signal more powerfully. But above all these things the steadiness and assurance and peace of God RESTS in how he has made it possible for us to be with him in that perfect REST.  Most LOVINGLY, he has made a way for all people to escape these judgements and even wrath by a person placing their complete trust in his son Jesus Christ: “When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.” Romans 5:6 NLT.

How Does God's Grace Work?

How does God's Grace work? Have you ever read the segway between Romans 10 and 11? The last verse of 10 and first verse of 11 is a life lesson about the riches of God's grace. God keeps giving to us, he keeps pursuing us...waiting patiently for us because of who he is. Volumes and volumes have been written about what's packed in these two verses. God has a way of showing humanity that he does LOVE people even when our hearts are desperately far away from him or when we have grasped onto false conclusions about him. He has amazing ways of making all things new even when we're blind or hard of hearing or even rebellious. The very significant point is when a person finally sees and hears and softens to God it is all because of his goodness and grace toward them. It's personal for him. It's a result of God's steady, unconditional love and authoring work over time. All of Romans 10 and 11 reveal this most amazing God who wants to have a relationship with us. We are no different than Israel in God's eyes, and He says pray for the peace of Jerusalem because it's the same as praying peace for our lives. Jesus is the Peace, and Grace of God whom God wants Israel to see and us to see. That same spiritual law works the other way too. If you want to be unfair to Israel or worse you are saying you want unfairness and the worst to happen to you personally. Everyone struggles, fights against the hard truths and resists sharing in the sufferings that come with following Jesus Christ. We can thank God so much for his goodness and grace towards us...the undeserving...and for his Spirit who gives us faith by reading the Word of God. Read Romans 10-11 today. God has an amazing plan unfolding that is full of grace to those who trust and believe in his Son Jesus Christ who makes all things possible.

“But regarding Israel, God said, “All day long I opened my arms to them, but they were disobedient and rebellious.””
Romans 10:21 NLT

GOD'S MERCY ON ISRAEL

“I ask, then, has God rejected his own people, the nation of Israel? Of course not!” Romans 11:1 NLT

---------------------------------
““Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.”
Zechariah 12:10 NLT

Truth Changes Lives: Law vs. Grace

Truth Changes Lives. God's Grace is sufficient for every moment, choice and motivation. Freedom is not found in the Law, but in His Grace. God gives us more than we can ask for or imagine in Jesus Christ....the One Perfect Fulfiller of the Law of God. May He be your Requirement and Portion, Desire and Need, Joy and Strength, Peace and Rest, Comfort and Hope, Beginning and End. May His Grace inspire and restore you. Jesus stops the striving outside and inside. His Grace takes us into the most Holy of Holies. Romans 6

Praise Replaces Heaviness

If the soul is down with the spirit of heaviness there is someone who came to lift it up through a garment of praise. Amazing things happen when Jesus is praised, thanked and focused on.

God Shouts a Whisper

God shouts a whisper:

"I've already done my part, and you must seek me to find me. I am found when you search for me with all your heart."

What a promise! His beckoning is not cliche or trite, but sincerely loving.

What kind of seekers have we become? What are we seeking?

We find God by searching the Bible. God reveals Himself through His Word. The whisper is the reminder, the shout is all of scripture.

Just read it and it'll cultivate, saturate, soften, warm up, quicken, illuminate, and strengthen all inside of us that is neglected, dry, hard, cold, tired, dark, and weak. It has the power to do the work we can't do.

Seek and you will find. The Bible can not be ignored if we desire to live. It reveals the passion and intense seeking Jesus went through for us. He sought for our life by dying, He sought for our encouragement by enduring ridicule, he sought for our righteousness by becoming sin for us. He sought for us to be loved by taking on the hate.

I pray God gives us the strength to seek Jesus, and not turn our hearts and eyes away from him. It's not easy to seek the Lord, but there is great reward.....Jesus Himself.

Knowledge and Emptiness

"You can have all your doctrines right, but still not have the presence of God." Leonard Ravenhill

Our sin is the only thing that keeps God's presence from flooding our lives. To experience God's presence is to know him. And Christ died for us while we were still in sin proving his love and ways are better. It's a Spirit thing. Jesus could literally burst through the heavens into your presence and you would not know him because of an unrepentant heart. You would experience all of his physical glory and beauty and he would not know you either. And there are those now who have repented of their sins, even those of today and yesterday, who have never seen Jesus, but know him and love him by faith...who have his presence.

Today is a day to know God and receive his presence! Getting right with God is always a now invitation.  It's what life is about.

...and beware of your enemy for he stops at nothing to keep you in sin, to tempt you to sin and to stop you from repenting.

Repentance toward Christ is the game changer.

“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.”
Acts 3:19-20 NLT

Conviction of Sin is Different Than Repenting of Sin

It's a blizzard today in Denver and the white is making me think of how it is we are washed white as snow.

If repentance away from sin and toward Jesus is the game changer than what does repentance mean?

A heart convicted of sin is different then a heart repenting of sin. It's 'I know and am sad I am a sinner' vs. 'I will not continue in my way'.

Four Excerpts from Catherine Booth's: " What is Repentance" shine important clarifications on repentance and the heart:

1. "Submission is the test of true repentance. A son or daughter may be willing to do a hundred and fifty other things, but if they are not willing to submit on the one point of controversy they are rebelling and remain in that state until they yield."

2. "Many will weep like a stubborn child when they are required to do something they do not want to do. They will cry, and when the discipline is applied they will cry harder, but that does not mean they are going to do what is required. Only when a person yields or submits do they become repentant. Otherwise they are just convicted without repentance."

3. "Repentance is not strictly sorrow over sin, though it is a part of it. The most common mistake is for people to suppose they are repentant when they are not. A person may be very sorry and convicted of their wrongful ways, and all the way down to death be hugging some forbidden thing, just as the rich young ruler hugged his possessions. Repentance is neither a promise that you will forsake sin in the future. There is scarcely any kind of a sinner who does not continually promise that they will one day give up their sin and turn to God, but he does not do it."

4. "Repentance is renouncing sin, turning away from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God through Jesus Christ. This is giving up sin in your heart, in purpose, in desire; resolving that you will hate and give up every evil course, pattern, idea....right now."

But what do we repent from?

The Law of God shines the light on what is sinful in our hearts....His Ten Commandments set boundaries we either yield to or rebel against. If we break God's law we sin ( miss the mark) and we die or must repent to get right with God again. Thankfully Jesus died for us and paid our penalty for breaking God's law in our hearts, thoughts and actions. Repentance is therefore a gift from God. The opportunity is there every second of every day....until there is no longer a chance to repent.

Could it be that the window for repentance is closing ? Could it be that a famine of God's Word is coming upon the world? Could it be that the invitation to seek after God and repent toward Jesus is almost passed? This is the single most important issue facing us all.

Here is another way of reading God's commandments toward us. Though they are rules and standards they can also be read as encouragements. If you notice, they are rules of engagement for creating healthy relationship with others, BUT all sin exists because we do the opposite of what God wants us to do.

1. Worship God alone because He is Worthy and loves you perfectly;
2. Cast away and renounce all the little gods you worship and have made for yourself that distract you and keep you from God;
3. Use God's name as a holy, special and revered name;
4. Remember God and rest on the one special day he made for you to be re-energized, encouraged, and strengthened;
5. Hold high your Dad and Mom no matter what;
6. Protect the lives of those around you by not taking their lives from them;
7. Love your spouse purely within your own marriage and protect other people's marriages through purity;
8. Earn your own possessions by working hard, and be thankful that other people do the same.
9. Always be honest and tell the truth in kindness and love when speaking about others;
10. Be thankful for what you have and appreciate that others have their own possessions. Be thankful that other people have nice things, because you love them.

The world ought to repent, and we ought to repent as a nation, and individually for removing these commandments from our schools, court houses, places of government, and from our hearts. Do we want what is good? We ought to pray that God would forgive us of the rebellion and open up our eyes to see that worshipping anything other then God is idolatry, and hating, coveting and lusting is rebellion. Pride is rebellion.

Satan fell from his place because of pride, man falls because of pride.

“Then Hezekiah humbled himself and repented of his pride, as did the people of Jerusalem. So the LORD’s anger did not fall on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.”
2 Chronicles 32:26 NLT

““Son of man, give your people this message: The righteous behavior of righteous people will not save them if they turn to sin, nor will the wicked behavior of wicked people destroy them if they repent and turn from their sins.” Ezekiel 33:12 NLT

Ancient Words of Guidance

Are these just ancient words that have made it through history until now....that we can read and trust in.... and be guided by?

““Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you. Listen to his instructions, and store them in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored— so clean up your life. If you give up your lust for money and throw your precious gold into the river, the Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver! “Then you will take delight in the Almighty and look up to God. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him. You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and light will shine on the road ahead of you. If people are in trouble and you say, ‘Help them,’ God will save them. Even sinners will be rescued; they will be rescued because your hands are pure.””
Job 22:21-30 NLT

““If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to him in prayer! Get rid of your sins, and leave all iniquity behind you. Then your face will brighten with innocence. You will be strong and free of fear. You will forget your misery; it will be like water flowing away. Your life will be brighter than the noonday. Even darkness will be as bright as morning. Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety. You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help. But the wicked will be blinded. They will have no escape. Their only hope is death.””
Job 11:13-20 NLT

I reckon not.... Amazing promises....that have been faithfully preserved for all people to trust in and believe!

God Gave His Best First

God gave us his best....FIRST, and that made all the difference for us. Simply acknowledging Jesus died for our personal sins and is Savior is a form of first fruits of faith that God will work with. Give him your trust. Every act of faith, no matter how small, pleases God, and he will bless it and multiply it. Jesus' death on the cross is only the beginning of the best God has to offer. He is really Good, Loving and Forgiving. This is one of the most encouraging and hopeful parts of knowing God: He gives his best and desires our best. That combination raises things from the dead!

Jesus Was A Man Of No Reputation

“but made Himself of no reputation....” Philippians 2:7 NKJV

Would you be content and comfortable with the identity God wanted to give you even if you couldn't fully know or grasp it? The call of God on the hearts of people to become pure in heart is constant. Jesus being a man could have gloated in his high position, and selfishly received due honor and praise from the people, but that would have been the end for us. But as a man, he chose instead to be of no reputation, and did what needed to be done ( lived to die) because of the joy set before him. As God, Jesus was truly unselfish, humble and pure in spirit. In our humanity, we can let our reputations hinder us from responding to the pure motive of the Holy Spirit who calls us into a child like, conscious of God alone kind of faith. "Why did I not respond to the Holy Spirit when he called me to surrender my life to Jesus Christ?" The answer could be that your reputation is more important to you then the salvation offered to you? If you're going to a service this weekend, or not, you might hear the call of God to follow Jesus again or for the first time. Why are you going to say yes or no? What matters is what God thinks and wants. Being able to come out of the darkness and into the light is dependent upon a person making themselves of no reputation. The identity God wants to give us may be beyond our understanding but it is truly purifying. When Jesus hung on the tree naked, ashamed, humiliated, embarrassed, and in pain he was ending that old reputation once and for all. He was winning, purifying and forgiving us. He was beginning a 3 day process that wouldn't only pierce the darkness of sin and death, but would end its power with complete victory over it. When you identify with Jesus that victory is yours as a gift from him! There is absolutely nothing you could have done that can stick to you, stain you or hold you down because of what Jesus did for you.    Can you imagine the thoughts of God the Father and the Holy Spirit as Jesus laid there in the darkness of the tomb!! And the anticipation of the life to burst forth!! Waiting patiently!! It can send chills through you.  No doubt he took a nap in that boat and storm on the Sea of Galilee to show us the bigger picture of overcoming the grave. No matter your age or experience, responding to the call of God into purity and salvation starts with a choice of being content with having no reputation. Your identity past, present and future is given to you by Jesus.

It's a Powerful Resurrection Weekend.

The Grave of Jesus is Full of Patience and Love

To love someone is to know their strengths, weaknesses, failures and victories and not be moved. Jesus was steady like that, and in that grace he saves, ministers and heals brokenness and pain. People need that patience, long suffering and compassion to believe God's love is real. The grave of Jesus is full of that amazing love and patience!

Loving Jesus When You Need Him Most

Is there something you need to show the Lord...in the moments you need him most? We have a part to play in this most amazing relationship with Jesus Christ. In each moment, His grace is sufficient, and his mercy is eternal. Loving Him in the moments we need him most is the purpose of life. His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. His power manifests through this giving and receiving of love. His love never fails, and we need him continually. He waits for us, and cheers for us. Jesus hopes and prays for us even when we mess up, and even when we follow through. He forgives and receives all the glory in our failures and our obedience. Jesus, in his Sovereignty and Omniscience over us, shares tears when we cry, endures in loving patience toward us when we callous, and remains sure and steady when we doubt or believe. He's got it and He's got us. He has the heart of his Perfect Father, He's a Faultless Savior, A Best Friend, and Ultimate Lord. He's more satisfying and significant than the air we breathe , food we eat, water we drink and money we seek. More important than all that we depend on. Only in Jesus is death the beginning of Life, and Life is eternal. Only in Jesus is fear removed in Perfect Love, and Perfect Love never fails. And by the Word of God we can know Him, and by His Creation we can see Him. Jesus matters today. He is the difference we are hoping for in this world. He is the answer we need. Jesus is the song we are longing to find and sing.

Hidden Places of Faith

What if instead of running from dark room to dark room of shame, and from shadowed building to shadowed building of sin, from prison to prison of bondage...unseen roof tops of cold and emptiness, we ran from dark room to dark room of integrity, shadowed building to shadowed building of righteousness, prison to prison of hope...sneaking from roof top to roof top in burning prayer and intercession; set a part to God and His hidden works of future glory? Don't we need each other's hidden honesty, quiet sincerity, and small yet powerful faith....belief in God's power through Jesus to bless and encourage one another? Nothing is hidden from His eyes, and He honors what is good and right in the night and day. Break and fall down in the alley ways of pride; go to thy knees at every gate of darkness. The power of God will meet us low at the foot of the cross of Christ. Darkness is pierced by the Light, the powers of drugs are loosed, rage and hate are banished, the lust in desire ends at this final destination of the cross of Christ. Yesterday is gone...and Recovery and Renewal is now at this cross of Jesus in our hidden places of faith....

The Difference Maker

People command attention no matter what, and they influence the same by what they say or do even if physically present or not: "Oh I hate what they stand for", or "I love what they represent "; "I want to be like them", or " I want nothing to do with them", "They are worthless", or "They are meaningful." "I want to know them", " I don't want to know them." As people, we base value on whatever reason we have, and we classify others into groups for whatever reason we have but we shouldn't. The good truth is that we are all equal no matter age, no matter race or gender, no matter nationality or religion, political or economic status, no matter health condition or physicality, no matter if you live across the pond or tracks etc. It's the human spirit that is the common denominator in humanity, and it is the Spirit of God who is the true Difference Maker among and within us. God in Christ Jesus is our Value Maker. Therefore, in our shared equality, and amidst the living God what we do and say and believe impacts everyone. This truth emphasizes the importance of being honest in all things and when in wrong to make the critical decision to repent back to God quickly. It also emphasizes the significance of being in someone's actual presence and how powerful our actions can be to influence another. It is an honor and very highly significant to share the presence of another person, because humanity is created in God's image with the capacity to receive the Spirit of God inside them. You'll find that when in the presence of God you are highly significant and especially valued beyond your ability to reason, because it's not what you look like, what you've done, nor what you believe that makes your value. It's that you were created by God and infused with a spirit that was intended to know him and experience him personally. To become one with him! This is the truth! When Jesus was on earth being in His physical presence revealed his selfless servant nature. He did not come to be waited on but to serve us. The reason why Jesus is the greatest among us is because he is the greatest servant. He puts his Father and people first. He's the one whose first inclination was to follow through and protect the innocent, lift high the low, empower the weak, stabilize the wayward, save the lost....
If there is doubt that Jesus is worthy to be Lord of Lords and King of Kings then we need to hope in the presence of the Lord. If there is no evidence of his servant nature we must request, rather plead, that Jesus would make his presence known among us by his Spirit. Making things great again does not start with focusing on class or status, money or power, sickness or health, failures nor successes. Rather, it has everything to do with the human spirit finally resting in the presence of God who is Jesus Christ, and trusting in his ability and power to make the whole world great again by his servant heart within us. Letting God work is a Spirit thing between the human spirit and God's Spirit. We Yield and Let Go! We must ask God to forgive us of our pride and sins, the only barrier that keeps God out of our lives, and wash us clean of our broken nature. We must receive His Spirit inside of us by confessing that Jesus is Savior and Lord, and that we need him to transform us by becoming born again by Water and Spirit. We must pray that the blinders come off so we can know Jesus is God in the flesh. We must confess and believe that he died to shed his blood (the cleaning agent) for everyone personally on the cross, and arose from the grave on the third day. If each person would sincerely pray to God and pursue him for this Salvation in his Son Jesus everyone would soon have the Spirit of God in them, and would be controlled by God's Spirit who is the real Difference Maker. The Bible reveals all of this. God the Holy Spirit points to Jesus Christ just as God the Father does. Because Jesus can and will make everything great again if we yield our bodies, souls, minds, and spirits to him. We can repent of our sins because we are human, because we can respond to the kindness of God. Look at the crucified Jesus, CRUSHED, on your behalf. Personalize his pain, sympathize with his suffering and you will be closer to repentance. You will hate your sin, you will want to be made clean because of the compassion Jesus has for you. Finally grasping on to Christ will take us quickly into true and everlasting change.

We gotta let go into this truth for one another, and watch the Holy Spirit Energize. This is the Energy, This is the Chance we can take, this is the Fight, it is the Lift and Shake."

At the Cross Road With Repentance and Pride: Choices?

Nothing is hidden from the eyes of God. He knows everything good and evil that has been done or thought. Everyone has fallen short of His glory. And God is Just and Merciful. He performs Justice in Righteousness and Mercy in His Love. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict this Nation of its sins. Maybe a remnant can intercede toward this? A remnant with the heart of David, or Gideon, or Daniel, or even Jonah. God does not desire that anyone should experience His judgement or wrath. He is slow to anger and quick to forgive/pardon those who turn to Jesus and reject their sins. I believe Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio understand this. Any leader or ruler is established by God. A nation that fears the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will also have Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior and God, and they are a protected Nation by the very hand of God. But a nation that does not fear the Lord ends up where America is now and has been heading. God removes his hand of blessing on a people who rejects Him. Through a nation's repentance God can begin healing and sovereignly restore it. He can replace corrupt leaders and he can stop any harmful intentions of terror, corrupt power brought through manipulation, lies, deceit and lawlessness. We need Jesus to become # 1 in our hearts and this to be our personal and collective prayer. Life and restoration begins bowing humbly at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ.

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Do good to Zion in your good pleasure; build up the walls of Jerusalem; then will you delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar.”
Psalm 51:1-19 ESV

Discerning Shameless Deception

If you don't have a framework or standard of living out truth in your mind, heart and life you can easily be deceived. Deception is a type of cloak or smoke screen; a subtle inconspicuous distraction that hides or distorts the truth with false messages/images/ideas/ etc. At its core deception is rooted in evil/lying. Deception can have multiple layers which makes it very difficult to discern reality. It wants to look like the truth as much as possible. It wants to call itself truth when it's not. The more a lie looks or is repeated to be like the truth the more deceptive it is. Deception makes poison look edible. It makes light look dark. It calls evil good. It fights to legitimize what is false/ evil/ wrong. You must have truth in order to believe in it and reject lies. The Bible is Truth and it is God's very Word to us. In it God warns about not being deceived, and that in the days just before he returns that there is going to be great deception and a great falling away from faith in Biblical Truth. The Anti-Christ spirit is Satan/Lucifer who is the master deceiver. He will indwell the lawless one to come. And indeed that spirit has already been at work throughout the generations. This Spirit of Deception has been working on overdrive for the past 40 years creating layers upon layers of subtle lies regarding the truth. Listen carefully, it's important to get to the bottom line. Ultimately, Satan/Lucifer does not want you to know the Way, The Truth and the Life who is Jesus Christ nor who you really are as a sinner who needs Jesus as Savior.  The layers of distraction, deception, and confusion against that revelation has already infiltrated our homes, families, churches, relationships, governments, work places, media programming and reporting, entertainment, religious books, self help books.....We are living in a time where if you don't know the Bible you will be deceived and misguided. There is active deception happening: Religions of Violence are being called Peaceful. Shattered economies are being called strong. Terrorists are being called refugees or are being legitimized as political parties. False Teachers are being called Shepherds. Nations of Peace are being labeled "Satan". It's endless....

The Devil is exceedingly deceptive! He knows the truth cannot be hidden forever, and that learning truth is a process of revelation for people. So he creates his deceptive layers to coincide with the moments that truth is revealed in our lives.  He has created other religious books throughout history to coincide with or fully keep people from the whole of the Bible.  He has tapped into the minds of the people through the endless forms of entertainment and already set up the deceptive rationalizations/reasonings/ explanations for future biblical events that are going to unfold. The Rapture of the Bride of Christ- Were they taken by aliens/a new age evolution or did Jesus call them out of the world before he pours out his wrath on it? Is the tech tattoo the only ticket to buy or sell anything in a cashless global market or is it the mark of the beast that identifies loyalty and trust to the devil? Is homosexuality a full expression of freedom within or is it the final expression and acceptance of rebellion toward God? After being fatally wounded, will the coming back to life of the Global One World Savior seal the allegiance of the world or will Jesus Christ's Glorious 2nd coming overcome that mass deception?

Who Jesus really is, what happens in the spiritual realm, Angels and Fallen Angels, Heaven and Hell, Human nature, God's nature, basically everything that is true Satan works to distort, because he knows his demise and he wants people to be destroyed with him. He has no hesitation in killing innocence, destroying what is holy and stealing what is sacred at every level of life. His blindfolds usher people into eternal hell with him. Only the Bible shatters his hazy glass.

Do you know what the Bible says about the following vs. what the world says about them vs. how the Devil has repackaged them deceptively?:

*Tech Tattoos and RFID ( radio frequency identification)
*Global Warming
*Lucifer
*Jesus Christ
*Magic, Wizardry, Ouija-
*ITE ( Invisible Terrestrial Entities)
*Giants and Nephilim -
*Yoga
*Sexual Immorality
*Star Gates / Spiritual Manifestation
*Israel
*Iran
*Christianity
*Islam
* it goes on and on.......

I pray that the Lord Jesus through his Holy Spirit will bless you with the revelation of his truth through the Holy Bible.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

The Only Regret Will Be Indifference to Jesus

It'll be great to be in the Lord's presence once and for all time. The One who knew our beginning and end since before He made time. No more sin no more regrets. And every second we have here is priceless for the sake of those who don't know Jesus, because when all is said and done according to the Word of God, and we are finally there with Him we hope everyone is there with us. Today is therefore so important. It's a hope and prayer that this eternal perspective sticks. There are already those who have died and entered an eternity with Jesus or without. They know reality. Now, sin's wage of eternal separation from God has been conquered because His Son paid the ultimate price for everyone's salvation.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.””
Isaiah 52:7 ESV

“And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Romans 10:15-17 ESV

“For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.

Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.””
Hebrews 3:3, 12-15 ESV

This World is Passing Away....It's Worth It To Die For Jesus

I can only imagine, and it gives me chills, to think about what Jesus' Father feels when he sees people willing to empathize with the sufferings of His Son Jesus Christ. The seen and unseen sufferings. Jesus did what His Father asked him to do, and that was to go to the cross for us to suffer the one acceptable death for all. I know God the Father is with those who are being persecuted for there faith in a special way. The world is against the Truth and love of God found in Jesus Christ. Are you surprised? Can you discern life and death, light and dark, good and evil, what is just and unjust, love and fear? When the time comes to die for Christ God's Holy Spirit is fully present in that heart.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
Romans 12:1 ESV

““Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.”
Matthew 24:9 ESV

““If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.”
John 15:18-21 ESV

“Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”
Acts 7:54-60 ESV

The Spirit of God Asks You, " Who Do You Say Jesus Is?"

How many hours will there be before the last hour strilkes, and the Son of Man is fully known by all of humanity? It's quite amazing....the Spirit of the Living God is who makes Jesus the focal point of life. The Spirit of God is always asking us, "Who Do You Say He Is?" May God bless your next hour with His Spirit... If you live the average 75 years, you have 657,000 hours (80 yrs = 700,800 hours) before you face eternity in the light of Jesus or the darkness of hell. Life will not be the same if you ask Jesus into your heart and trust the Bible that he prepared for you. Trusting all of the Bible is the same as trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior! The Old Testament is Jesus Concealed and the New Testament is Jesus revealed.

God Flips The World's Understanding Upside Down

These verses reveal so much of the whole theme of Scripture. The Bible encourages people to see rightly, Not just with the eyes physically, but with the heart of truth. So many don't see because of what the Scriptures reveal. God's way is not our Way, and therefore we must let go in order to start seeing. Even the enemy, Satan, knows this and that is why he can deceive so many. He appears as an angel of light only to deceive and destroy. God Almighty shows up on earth as a baby, humble, dependent, and in need. Even ISIS is now shaving their beards, and are masquerading as Christians only to slaughter. I pray you will see Jesus as who he is soon. Dive into the Bible and let it do its work in you.

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?””
John 11:25-26 ESV

“And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.””
Ezekiel 17:24 ESV

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”
James 4:10 ESV

““Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.””
Isaiah 55:1, 7-9, 12-13 ESV

“Ah, you who hide deep from the Lord your counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?” You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay, that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”? Is it not yet a very little while until Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be regarded as a forest? In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see. The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the poor among mankind shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.”
Isaiah 29:15-19 ESV

“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,”
1 Corinthians 1:18, 25, 27-28 ESV

““Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.””
Isaiah 1:18-20 ESV

“For It Is Jesus Who Lights My Lamp; the Lord My God Lightens MyDarkness.” Psalm 18:28

“For it is you who lights my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness.” Psalm 18:28 ESV

"Welcome to the darkness- where all mistakes are made;
Don't be fooled only you can find or lose your way... It's better to light a candle then it is to curse the dark...It's better to LIGHT A CANDLE!!!!." Alan Horvath - Straight and Narrow

"Some say I'm a dreamer; I dream of words that can't be sung,
But I'm just a believer in the Son.

And some say I'm a weaver; I weave thoughts with Melody,
But I'm just a receiver of Eternity.

Oh, I could spin a song of gold, but what good would it do; Nothing but a soul would make its way to You.

I need your love, sing a song, sow your light in me.

Some say I'm nothing...that the wind can't blow right through, but that's exactly what I wanted to do.

And some say I'm crazy 'cause I believe in things unseen;
Like miracles to a blind man I believe.

Some say I'm a dreamer, but I am just a Believer. I believe in You.

I need your light, sing a song...
Spin your light in me."
2nd Chapter of Acts - Spin Your Light.

“But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,”
Ephesians 5:13 ESV

“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.”
Psalm 36:9 ESV

“But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.””
John 11:10 ESV

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:5 ESV

“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
1 John 1:5 ESV

“And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Isaiah 60:3 ESV

Jesus is the Light

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.””
John 9:5 ESV

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”” John 8:12 ESV

“John the Baptist was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light Jesus Christ.”
John 1:8 ESV

Time Is Eroding- Seconds Are Floating - BEWARE!

"Beware my heart; Don't let pride start; tick-tock time is eroding; seconds are floating ............and I c a n ' t c a t c h t h e m ; b e w a r e / silence your heart; set it apart / b e w a r e..."
This one's TIMELESS even though written in 1984. It's a great up beat sound inviting the will to set apart the heart for silence. It's got that groovy 1975-1985 echo to it, a hint of urgency; and harmonies of encouragement eluding to the fact that all the distractions can be silenced. It makes me want to step into intentional silence with Joy for a little baby boy who saved my soul!.

Realizing Who Jesus Is

Once people realize who Jesus is and what he does for them, it makes sense why he is thought about, worshipped, praised, followed, and revered 24/7....not just at certain times of the year. He calls sick people who know their need to turn away from their own ways, not the "healthy" who think they are ok. People hated Matthew because he was a "slimy vermon" tax collector. Levi knew it was true of himself, and the religious people despised him, but Jesus loved him and called him out of collecting taxes. That love hooked Matthew and he asked for mercy and received it. Jesus did the same for the adulterous woman. He saved her from righteous judgements and unrighteous men. He did the same for me...saving me from all my sin by his love, mercy and grace. Jesus is a 24/7 Savior, God/Man, High Priest, who restores people into a Born Again life all year long.
“As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.” Matthew 9:9 ESV
“And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.....", then Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” John 8:7, 10-11 ESV

Matthew Realizing the Love and Forgiveness of Jesus

Jesus Holding Everyone Accountable

Giving Glory To God Strengthens Faith

“No unbelief made Abraham waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” WERE NOT WRITTEN FOR HIS SAKE ALONE, but FOR OURS ALSO. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” Romans 4:20-25 ESV
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:1-5 ESV
