Notes: You and Your Household Series / By Derek Prince

A Father's Privilege
-Don't lose joy of salvation.
-Don't give way to discouragement. It's not of Holy Spirit
-Turn to scriptures in all circumstances for endurance and encouragement. Romans 15:4

“For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
Romans 15:4 ESV

Philippian Jailor
-Acts 16:29-31 / He wanted to be saved but God wants his household saved too. This  expresses the nature of God. God cares for families, not just individuals. He's a Father.

“And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."”
Acts 16:29-31 ESV

Eph 3:14-15. Every family in heaven and earth derives it name from God the Father.

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,”
Ephesians 3:14-15 ESV

God has compassion on the lonely. God wants people to be a part of a family. Psalm 68:5-6. He is a Father to the fatherless. His provision of salvation expresses his nature. The Family of God! Come into the family of God.

“Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.”
Psalms 68:5-6 ESV

Noah
Genesis 6:5-8 / God looked on Noah with favor and it included his household. Noah's righteousness alone was recognized, but God included his household in Gen 7:1 /   This is the Father's nature. We don't have to argue and plead with God to care for our families. He already cares for the Family. He created marriage and family.

“The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them." But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” Genesis 6:5-8 ESV

“Then the Lord said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.” Genesis 7:1 ESV

Joshua
Joshua 24:15 / Joshua had the privilege and responsibility to make the decision of salvation for his household as a father. He understood the nature of God...."As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."” Joshua 24:15 ESV

Abraham
Divine order is that a father has divine privilege of choosing salvation for the household. The greater the privilege the greater the responsibility. Abraham in Romans 4 is called the Father of all who believe and we are called to follow the pattern of his faith.

“That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, as it is written, "I have made you the father of many nations"—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was "counted to him as righteousness." But the words "it was counted to him" were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,”
Romans 4:16-17, 20-24 ESV

Genesis 18:17-19 / 1. Abraham was friend of God and God wanted to share his secret and plan for salvation. 2. God purposed that Abraham become a great and mighty nation where all the nations of the earth would be blessed. 3. He was chosen ( or known for his character) to command his children and those after him to fulfill the requirements for the blessing. God saw in Abraham that his character was a Father who would lay down the requirements of salvation through faith and obedience in the Lord and command his children and household to walk in the way of the Lord. Abraham is a pattern for all.

“The Lord said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do, seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him."”
Genesis 18:17-19 ESV

Condition Responsibilities and Privilege Blessings:

Deuteronomy 11:18-21 / Fathers faithfully teach your children the Word of the Lord and their days would be like the days of heaven on earth.

“"You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth.”
Deuteronomy 11:18-21 ESV

Psalm 112:1-2 / This father's children and his grand children and descendants would be mighty and greatly blessed due to fulfilling the responsibility of fearing the Lord and finding great delight in the Lord commands and teaching them to his children.

“Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.” Psalms 112:1-2 ESV

Psalm 128:1-4 / A Father who fears the Lord and walks in his ways transmits the blessing of the Lord to his wife and children.

“Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.”
Psalms 128:1-4 ESV

Proverbs 22:6 / A father is responsible and jointly with the mother to train his children in the way of the Lord and when they are old they will not turn from it. The father is to lead his household.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 ESV

The essential condition or responsibility of the father is that the word of God is to be taught, exemplified, lived out and incalculated in every aspect of the family life and this will lead to the privilege that the father will bring his whole household into all the salvation blessings of the Lord.

The Lesson of Job
God has established the family and desires to preserve and maintain the integrity and well-being of the family. Satan desires to destroy and tear apart the family.

The experience of Job as a father is very different from the Philippian jailer, Noah, Joshua, and Abraham.

Job 1:1/ Job was blameless and upright feared the Lord and shunned evil.

“There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.” Job 1:1 ESV

This was the estimation of Job in God's own words, and Satan sought to ruin him and his family. Job had tremendous honor and with that he had tremendous responsibility as a father. One of jobs major characters is that he was a strong father who cared for and interceded for his children.

“There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very many servants, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east. His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did continually.” Job 1:2-5 ESV

He had seven sons and three daughters. Jobs family and children were very close. They always met together and enjoyed each other's company. Job was always concerned that his children may have cursed God or walked away from him in someway and each morning he would put before the Lord a burnt offering ceremonially interceding for his children just in case they had turned away from God. He had regular parental intercession on behalf of each one of his children. Even though he was faithful in this responsibility disaster still overtook his children

“While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house, and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you."”
Job 1:18-19 ESV

Had Job failed? No. Had God failed? No. Neither Job nor God failed. Job did all that he could do as a father for his children, and God is faithful. The lesson of Job's life as a father is found at the end of his life. James 5:11 highlights the outcome or end of Jobs life as the item to look at. James is saying look at the last chapter of the book of Job before you judge the situation.

“Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.” James 5:11 ESV

Job 42:10-14/ God gave Job twice as much is what he had before. The Lord blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. Job got double of everything except sons and daughters. God gave him again 7 sons and 3 daughters.  God doubled his children. He would be reunited with the first 10 in heaven and he gave him another 10 to enjoy for the remainder of his life on earth.

“And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Then came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and ate bread with him in his house. And they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him. And each of them gave him a piece of money and a ring of gold. And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning. And he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. He had also seven sons and three daughters. And he called the name of the first daughter Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.”
Job 42:10-14 ESV

Lessons
1.Teach the way of the Word
2.Pray and intercede for your children
3. Set a godly example

No matter what happens continue to trust God's mercy and covenant keeping faithfulness.

The Lesson of Rahab
The salvation of the Lord is a household salvation. Rahab was a woman without a husband but with faith that brought salvation to her family. She tied the scarlet thread in her window. She was a prostitute in the wicked city Jericho that God was going to destroy, yet she feared the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. She was commanded to bring all her household into her dwelling so that they might be saved. Rahab father mother brothers and all who belonged to her. Though she was unmarried and a prostitute she

1. Believed that the God of Israel would be giving them the land.
2. She put action into her faith. She risked her life to save the spies.
3. She made a confession of her faith by tying the scarlet chord innhercwindowxwhichvrrpresentscthe blood of Jesus.

Faith, Works and Confession brought salvation to her entire family.

Hebrews 11:31 - her example of faith
“By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.”

Hebrews 11:31 ESV

James 2:25- James describes that Rehabs faith was a faith that worked. Even though she was wrestled in prostitution. It's a challenging thought that a prostitute can be considered righteous if she acts in faith.

“And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?”
James 2:25 ESV

Matthew 1:5- Rahab was chosen to be a part of the genealogy of Jesus. She was King David's Great Great Grandmother. She married Salmon and bore Boaz, Boaz fathered Obed, and Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered King David who was in the line of Jesus.

“and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse,”
Matthew 1:5 ESV
http://bible.com/59/mat.1.5.esv

Rahab had a loving heart and cared for her whole family. She became the ancestress of Jesus the Messiah and saved her whole household.

A Canaanite Woman
Even when things are not as they should be. God has set no limit to faith that works by love.

Matthew 15:21-28/ She had the faith that does not give up and God rewarded that. Even though Jesus was fulfilling the covenant relationship with the Jews, the Canaanite woman pressed in by faith and proclaimed that Jesus was the only one who could solve her problem.

“And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon." But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." And he answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.”
Matthew 15:21-28 ESV

She wasn't ashamed of her desperation.

She was humble and received the truth from Jesus even when he had an indifferent attitude at first.

She had insight to the nature of Jesus. She had a divine intuition about who Jesus was.

The tug of a desperate believing soul can draw God into the situation and change the course of Christ. Jesus took a 4 day journey to and fro to minister to this woman's faith and need and it saved her demon possessed daughter.

The Victorious King Jesus Can and Will Save You

“The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel.

and

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Psalms 147:2-3 ESV

God's work is about restoring and healing. He has a plan for the nations and he has a plan for individual souls.

“At that time Jesus declared, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."”
Matthew 11:25-30 ESV

GENTLE AND LOWLY IN HEART

“And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalms 9:10 ESV

“The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever!” Psalms 22:26 ESV

“The earth is the Lord 's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. SUCH IS THE GENERATION OF THOSE WHO SEEK HIM, WHO SEEK THE FACE OF THE GOD OF JACOB Selah. Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah”
Psalms 24:1-10 ESV

All the enemies of God oppose his Lordship and his plan of Salvation for the world, which is very good, and God has already won through Jesus Christ.

It's a good day to place our trust and hope in the King of Glory. He is Jesus Christ.

The Paradox Of Love

AW Tozer's Pursuit of God:

"Shoreless Ocean, who can sound Thee? Thine own eternity is round Thee, Majesty divine!

❤️To have found God and still to pursue Him is the soul’s paradox of love❤️, scorned indeed by the too-easily- satisfied religionist, but justified in happy experience by the children of the burning heart. St. Bernard stated this holy paradox in a musical quatrain:

"We taste Thee, O Thou Living Bread,
And long to feast upon Thee still:
We drink of Thee, the Fountainhead
And thirst our souls from Thee to fill."

Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they had found Him the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking. ❤️Moses used the fact that he knew God as an argument for knowing Him better.❤️ ’Now, therefore, I pray to you, if I have found grace in your sight, show me now your way, that I may know you, that I may find grace in your sight’; and from there he rose to make the daring request, ’I beseech you, show me your glory.’ ❤️ God was frankly pleased by this display of ardour, and the next day called Moses into the mount, and there in solemn procession made all His glory pass before him.

I want deliberately to encourage this mighty longing after God. The lack of it has brought us to our present low estate. The stiff and wooden quality about our religious lives is a result of our lack of holy desire. Complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth. Acute desire must be present or there will be no manifestation of Christ to His people. He waits to be wanted. Too bad that with many of us He waits so long, so very long, in vain.

Every age has its own characteristics. Right now we are in an age of religious complexity. The simplicity which is in Christ is rarely found among us. In its stead are programs, methods, organizations and a world of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the longing of the heart. The shallowness of our inner experience, the hollowness of our worship, and the servile imitation of the world which marks our promotional methods all testify that we, in this day, know God only imperfectly, and the peace of God scarcely at all.

If we would find God amid all the religious externals we must first determine to find Him, and then proceed in the way of simplicity. Now as always God discovers Himself to ’babes’ and hides Himself in thick darkness from the wise and the prudent. We must simplify our approach to Him. We must strip down to essentials (and they will be found to be blessedly few). We must put away all effort to impress, and come with the guileless candor of childhood. If we do this, without doubt God will quickly respond.

When religion has said its last word, there is little that we need other than God Himself. The evil habit of seeking "God-and" effectively prevents us from finding God in full revelation. In the ’and’ lies our great woe. If we omit the ’and’, we shall soon find God, and in Him we shall find that for which we have all our lives been secretly longing."

AW Tozer - in The Pursuit of God

The Son Has Been Lifted Up For The Nations

Even though great calamities, shakings, anguish, tears, loss, and suffering could be on the horizon for the world ( maybe even sooner then 40 years) what Jesus proclaimed is true now. He has already won and is victorious for you. The sin of the world and flesh is running rampant, but the Spirit of God that lives can live inside of you, and catapult you out of the grave. To live is Christ and to die is gain. Where Russia, Iran, Turkey, Syria, America, the EU , and Israel are headed has already been written. It's ALL been written. Somewhere in the world it's a red dawn. For someone war is eminent.  It's a bleak future for sure outside of Jesus Christ. It's been written in Amos, Revelation, Matthew 24, Zechariah etc. Ask Ukraine, ask Israel, ask Europeans, or Americans where will their hope be in times of great distress? What could possibly pierce the darkness?

Remember!

Jesus said something important for everyone in every age. He said it right at the perfect time, and it is assuring and brings hope no matter the circumstance if you believe. Jesus knew that within 40 years of his proclamation that the Jewish Temple would be destroyed; that Jerusalem would be seized and great calamities and anguish would fall on the people. Yet, he said what was needed to help everyone realize there is  more to life then what we experience here....there is victory over sin and death IN HIM. There is a refuge for your soul after the body is gone IN JESUS. He revealed this for all humanity's sake, and followed through with it:

“And he told those who sold the pigeons, "Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a house of trade." His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me." So the Jews said to him, "What sign do you show us for doing these things?" Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?" But he was speaking about the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.” John 2:16-22 ESV

God's Son is lifted up for all the nations. He is Alive...risen from the grave!

The Upside Down Paradigm

It's the upside down paradigm or the difference between pride and humility. Lucifer wanted to be God and have all worship him and his pride caused him to fall for all eternity. He was given the name Satan. If we seek to gain our lives we actually lose it. God uses the foolishness of the world to shame the wise. Out of death comes life. The Kingdom of heaven belongs to the childlike in heart. The perfect King of kings and Lord of lords was born in a shed, he didn't have a home, he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and died a sinner's death. The servant is the greatest. The first shall be last and the last first.....It's endless....God is awesome and his ways are not our ways.

Look Deeper

More often then not a person must look past the outward appearance of things to get to the reality. Although God is invisible he has made himself known. Can a person believe in God when they don't fully understand him? By faith yes, but we first MUST believe how he has made himself understood. Do we understand how ❤️ valuable ❤️ humanity is to God that he gave his only Son for us? The reality is that God has made himself known, visible and understood through ❤️Jesus Christ❤️

“Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.”
John 14:9-11 ESV

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
Romans 1:20 ESV

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.” John 1:14, 18 ESV

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
1 Peter 1:3-9 ESV

God Wants To Dwell Inside Of You

Aug13-14 / 2016 was the 9th of Av. A very historically significant day in history, as well as the future. Both temples of the Lord were allowed to be destroyed on this day ultimately because of a lack of fear for the Lord. But God in his ways (Love and Grace) has the ability and desire to make everything that is wrong right. He doesn't leave the mess, but he cleanse it up and makes it better. The coming third temple is a step in the right direction even though it will be established in confusion. Ultimately God desires to dwell inside of us with his Holy Spirit.

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.”
Ezekiel 36:25-27 ESV

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV

To Fear God Is A Choice

The Fear of the Lord is a good choice.

The importance of fearing the Lord has strong ramifications for our lives.

The first commandment of God is to have no other gods before him.

It is a choice to fear the Lord moment by moment and in daily reverence. It be hooves us to learn and seek the fear of the Lord. God promises that if he is the #1 priority in a life then that life will:
- not be visited by evil
- will abide in satisfaction
- will possess riches, honor and life.
- will have a place of refuge
- will have eternal life
- will be secure
- have a hope the extends beyond the grave
- experience a blessed and happy family

The key to a perfect heart is the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord will produce continual cleansing of the heart.

2 Chronicles 16:9 says, "“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him."

When a soul fears the Lord the whole heart is focused on pleasing the Lord in all areas of life, and there is no turning back from a total commitment in seeking God. Every issue is perceived from God's perspective. All bridges that could cause a soul to walk away from the Lord are removed. Those bridges of public opinion, self interest, and sensual indulgence are unreliable and can not cultivate the fear of the Lord.

Jeremiah 17:5-10 says, ""Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? "I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds."”

What are 4 ways to cultivate the fear of the Lord?

1. Make a definite personal choice of taking the course to enter the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 1:28-30 says,"“Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, and would have none of my counsel and despised all reproof." This means we must respond to the invitation of the Lord to reverence him when we can. Don't wait to respond to God's call today.
2. Accept counsel and reproof from the Holy Spirit. Psalm 34:11 says, "“Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord." Listen with the ears and eyes of your heart. Line up with the priorities of the Spirit.
3. Accept teaching from God's ministers. Men of God's choice who build up the body of Christ. Ephesians 4: 11-12 say, “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Be teachable by the pastors and elders God has established for the body of Christ. Submit to them who are exemplifying the faith.
4. Accept teaching from God's Word. Proverbs 2:1-5 says, " “My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” Verse 1 = Receive and treasure; Verse 2 = Incline your heart; Verse 3= Cry out for; Verse 4 = Seek as for lost treasure; Verse 5= Receive the fear of the Lord!!

It Is Written

"It is written..." Matthew 4:4,7,10

“Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
Ephesians 6:17 NLT

Satan has an agenda to specifically ruin our lives. He seeks to destroy our lives daily. How do we combat an enemy who is a thousand times smarter in strategy then we are? Look how much chaos is in the world, false teaching, temptation. There is only one way to overcome the real enemy. God has given us his Word to defeat the wiles of the Devil. The Word of God is the Ultimate Authority in spiritual warfare and in delivering us from every stronghold, addiction, lie.

Love God's Word

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5 ESV

Fear God Not Man

Fear God not man.

Psalm 11, Psalm 12, Psalm 37, Psalm 91,

““But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear! “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Matthew 10:26-28 NLT

Anything Great Starts With God and Gives Him Glory

This verse reveals how God is above all and in all. Who are we that we think we are anything? The Lord is everything, therefore, HE Himself makes us something eternal. Anything great starts with God and is a result of his involvement through his Spirit and by his Son Jesus. Be encouraged to pursue a lowly and meek state of heart and mind if it witnesses to and glorifies your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...publicly or privately.

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT
