I'm so thankful for Jesus and what he did for me, all my family and all my friends! The reality of what he did for every person on the cross specifically is recognized today. The significance of the cross, and what was exactly accomplished, and what it means is not understood or known by most people though. So what exactly was accomplished? By God's amazing Grace this is what was accomplished:

"It is because Jesus conquered the power of sin in his own personal life that he can remove from us the guilt of sin, and therefore deliver us from sins power and guilt. Every day Jesus had to take up and carry his cross. That is, to lose his own life and will by going out of himself and doing and speaking nothing except what he had seen or heard from the Father. Rather then pleasing himself, it is Jesus' spirit of obedience to lay down his life, his self in every area, that is the secret that gives his blood power to free us from the wage of our sin. Sin brought about a change in God, not in his nature, but in his relationship toward us. He had to turn away from us in wrath. But by God' grace and love, peace has been made through the cross of Christ between God and man. By fixing the sin problem in us through Jesus, God has also fixed our relationship with him. The power of the cross in heaven has been made known to entirely remove everything that could bring about a separation from God or awaken his wrath. Now, in Christ, we are granted the utmost freedom of entrance to and the most intimate relationship with God. Peace has been made and proclaimed; peace reigns in heaven. We are perfectly reconciled to God and have been received again into his friendship" Andrew Murray

This is the greatest news! It shatters man made religion and gets people right with God on God's terms. All this is through the power of the cross that came through his grace. It is what so many praise God for today.

"Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the lord laid on him the sins of us all. (Isaiah 53:4-6 NLT)

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16, 17 NLT)

Have a GOOD Friday!
