The Only Regret Will Be Indifference to Jesus

It'll be great to be in the Lord's presence once and for all time. The One who knew our beginning and end since before He made time. No more sin no more regrets. And every second we have here is priceless for the sake of those who don't know Jesus, because when all is said and done according to the Word of God, and we are finally there with Him we hope everyone is there with us. Today is therefore so important. It's a hope and prayer that this eternal perspective sticks. There are already those who have died and entered an eternity with Jesus or without. They know reality. Now, sin's wage of eternal separation from God has been conquered because His Son paid the ultimate price for everyone's salvation.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.””
Isaiah 52:7 ESV

“And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Romans 10:15-17 ESV

“For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.

Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.””
Hebrews 3:3, 12-15 ESV

This World is Passing Away....It's Worth It To Die For Jesus

I can only imagine, and it gives me chills, to think about what Jesus' Father feels when he sees people willing to empathize with the sufferings of His Son Jesus Christ. The seen and unseen sufferings. Jesus did what His Father asked him to do, and that was to go to the cross for us to suffer the one acceptable death for all. I know God the Father is with those who are being persecuted for there faith in a special way. The world is against the Truth and love of God found in Jesus Christ. Are you surprised? Can you discern life and death, light and dark, good and evil, what is just and unjust, love and fear? When the time comes to die for Christ God's Holy Spirit is fully present in that heart.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
Romans 12:1 ESV

““Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.”
Matthew 24:9 ESV

““If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.”
John 15:18-21 ESV

“Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”
Acts 7:54-60 ESV

The Spirit of God Asks You, " Who Do You Say Jesus Is?"

How many hours will there be before the last hour strilkes, and the Son of Man is fully known by all of humanity? It's quite amazing....the Spirit of the Living God is who makes Jesus the focal point of life. The Spirit of God is always asking us, "Who Do You Say He Is?" May God bless your next hour with His Spirit... If you live the average 75 years, you have 657,000 hours (80 yrs = 700,800 hours) before you face eternity in the light of Jesus or the darkness of hell. Life will not be the same if you ask Jesus into your heart and trust the Bible that he prepared for you. Trusting all of the Bible is the same as trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior! The Old Testament is Jesus Concealed and the New Testament is Jesus revealed.

God Flips The World's Understanding Upside Down

These verses reveal so much of the whole theme of Scripture. The Bible encourages people to see rightly, Not just with the eyes physically, but with the heart of truth. So many don't see because of what the Scriptures reveal. God's way is not our Way, and therefore we must let go in order to start seeing. Even the enemy, Satan, knows this and that is why he can deceive so many. He appears as an angel of light only to deceive and destroy. God Almighty shows up on earth as a baby, humble, dependent, and in need. Even ISIS is now shaving their beards, and are masquerading as Christians only to slaughter. I pray you will see Jesus as who he is soon. Dive into the Bible and let it do its work in you.

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?””
John 11:25-26 ESV

“And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.””
Ezekiel 17:24 ESV

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”
James 4:10 ESV

““Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.””
Isaiah 55:1, 7-9, 12-13 ESV

“Ah, you who hide deep from the Lord your counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?” You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay, that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”? Is it not yet a very little while until Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be regarded as a forest? In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see. The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the poor among mankind shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.”
Isaiah 29:15-19 ESV

“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,”
1 Corinthians 1:18, 25, 27-28 ESV

““Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.””
Isaiah 1:18-20 ESV

“For It Is Jesus Who Lights My Lamp; the Lord My God Lightens MyDarkness.” Psalm 18:28

“For it is you who lights my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness.” Psalm 18:28 ESV

"Welcome to the darkness- where all mistakes are made;
Don't be fooled only you can find or lose your way... It's better to light a candle then it is to curse the dark...It's better to LIGHT A CANDLE!!!!." Alan Horvath - Straight and Narrow

"Some say I'm a dreamer; I dream of words that can't be sung,
But I'm just a believer in the Son.

And some say I'm a weaver; I weave thoughts with Melody,
But I'm just a receiver of Eternity.

Oh, I could spin a song of gold, but what good would it do; Nothing but a soul would make its way to You.

I need your love, sing a song, sow your light in me.

Some say I'm nothing...that the wind can't blow right through, but that's exactly what I wanted to do.

And some say I'm crazy 'cause I believe in things unseen;
Like miracles to a blind man I believe.

Some say I'm a dreamer, but I am just a Believer. I believe in You.

I need your light, sing a song...
Spin your light in me."
2nd Chapter of Acts - Spin Your Light.

“But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,”
Ephesians 5:13 ESV

“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.”
Psalm 36:9 ESV

“But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.””
John 11:10 ESV

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:5 ESV

“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
1 John 1:5 ESV

“And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Isaiah 60:3 ESV

Jesus is the Light

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.””
John 9:5 ESV

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”” John 8:12 ESV

“John the Baptist was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light Jesus Christ.”
John 1:8 ESV

Time Is Eroding- Seconds Are Floating - BEWARE!

"Beware my heart; Don't let pride start; tick-tock time is eroding; seconds are floating ............and I c a n ' t c a t c h t h e m ; b e w a r e / silence your heart; set it apart / b e w a r e..."
This one's TIMELESS even though written in 1984. It's a great up beat sound inviting the will to set apart the heart for silence. It's got that groovy 1975-1985 echo to it, a hint of urgency; and harmonies of encouragement eluding to the fact that all the distractions can be silenced. It makes me want to step into intentional silence with Joy for a little baby boy who saved my soul!.

Realizing Who Jesus Is

Once people realize who Jesus is and what he does for them, it makes sense why he is thought about, worshipped, praised, followed, and revered 24/7....not just at certain times of the year. He calls sick people who know their need to turn away from their own ways, not the "healthy" who think they are ok. People hated Matthew because he was a "slimy vermon" tax collector. Levi knew it was true of himself, and the religious people despised him, but Jesus loved him and called him out of collecting taxes. That love hooked Matthew and he asked for mercy and received it. Jesus did the same for the adulterous woman. He saved her from righteous judgements and unrighteous men. He did the same for me...saving me from all my sin by his love, mercy and grace. Jesus is a 24/7 Savior, God/Man, High Priest, who restores people into a Born Again life all year long.
“As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.” Matthew 9:9 ESV
“And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.....", then Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” John 8:7, 10-11 ESV

Matthew Realizing the Love and Forgiveness of Jesus

Jesus Holding Everyone Accountable

Giving Glory To God Strengthens Faith

“No unbelief made Abraham waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” WERE NOT WRITTEN FOR HIS SAKE ALONE, but FOR OURS ALSO. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” Romans 4:20-25 ESV
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:1-5 ESV

The Covenants Of God Bring Understanding About Israel's Future

Understanding the Abrahamic, Deuteronomic, Mosaic, Davidic, and New Covenant of God will help bring understanding about God's future plans for Israel and the world. Gentile arrogance replaces Israel, but God will not break his covenants. This is a super important conversation.

Accept or Reject the True Path For Peace?

This following passage of the Bible is contrary to what many religious leaders are saying about how people become united:

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,”
Ephesians 2:19-20 ESV

For example, this video message the Pope gave can not bring true unity and peace. It is not based on Biblical truth. The God of Israel is the source of true agape love, and He is not the same as Allah nor Buddah. The children of Allah or Buddah are not the same children as the children of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who believe in Jesus as Messiah of the world. Believing in the God of the Bible is to believe in Love. The proof of God's love for mankind and method for bringing humanity into true peace and unity to himself is through the giving of his only son Jesus Christ to us. Jesus Christ isn't just one of many ways to become united. He is the only person through which peace and unity will flourish. He proclaimed this about himself on so many occasions. But one area of scripture emphasizes that there is no room for doubt or uncertainty that only He is the Peacemaker on this earth. It is Matthew 10:34-39 which states, "““Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

It's a challenging point to accept but Jesus is leaving no question that he is the only source for peace and eternal life. The following video is contrary to the words of Jesus, and though it appears peaceful and loving it does not proclaim that Jesus is the only way to unity and everlasting life.

Evidence That Jesus Is The Answer For World Peace

Biblical Correctness rejoices in the truth: THIS IS EVIDENCE THAT JESUS IS THE ANSWER. THAT HE IS THE ABSOLUTE ONLY WAY PEACE WILL EVER COME TO THE MIDDLE EAST...LET ALONE THE WORLD. JESUS IS MORE THEN PEOPLE REALIZE. "JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE" IS NOT JUST ANOTHER SLOGAN NOR PHRASE. WHEN A MUSLIM, A JEW OR ANYONE PUTS THEIR FAITH IN JESUS, AND HE BECOMES LORD AND SAVIOR OF THAT SOUL, REAL EVERLASTING PEACE IS PRESENT AMONG THEM BECAUSE JESUS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NOW THE SOURCE OF PEACE. HE UNITES. THIS IS BIBLICAL TRUTH MANIFESTED....UNITY, AGREEMENT, ONE MIND BETWEEN THOSE WHO WERE ONCE SEPARATED FROM JESUS AND HOSTILE TO ONE ANOTHER. THE "ONE NEW MAN" OF EPHESIANS 2 IS REAL EVERLASTING UNITY AS A RESULT OF JESUS CHRIST. IT IS NOT RELIGIOUS UNITY.
“Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. FOR HE HIMSELF IS OUR PEACE, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself ONE NEW MAN in place of the two, SO MAKING PEACE, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For THROUGH JESUS we both have access IN ONE SPIRIT to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
Ephesians 2:11-22 ESV

Real Transformers

These are the legit transformers and agents of peace in the Middle East. There is nothing that can stop them. They understand the mystery of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles— assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. THIS MYSTERY IS THAT THE GENTILES ARE FELLOW HEIRS, MEMBERS OF THE SAME BODY, AND PARTAKERS OF THE PROMISE IN CHRIST JESUS THROUGH THE GOSPEL. Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.” Ephesians 3:1-13 ESV

Psalm 95:6-7 ESV
““Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.”

Whether Above Or Below That Dividing Line...... Jesus Is There.

This world is failing you and me. Looking around you see politics and religion imploding, but also fighting, even to the point of insane violence. It isn't through either, unfortunately. It's truly what happens, inevitably, because human nature is indeed fallen. Conforming to Christ, however, is the real answer, and that requires surrendering to His ways. The state of the World is a result of resisting and being stiff necked towards a loving God who gave his Son Jesus to save the world. If the World would only yield to think and observe the evidence inside the Word Of God what difference would that make? The King of Kings is now reaching out to save a drowning world, but I truly don't believe that the World spends time in this Good Book of God to believe it's goodness. Did you know the Word of God proclaims that Jesus will one day rule this very world under a Theocracy as King of Kings and Lord of Lords? He will rule with Righteousness and Justice. Philippians 2:9-11 reveals what Authority has been given to him because of Philippians 2:5-8. And Isaiah 9:6-7 also proclaims:
For to us a child is born,to us a son is given;and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end,on the throne of David and over his kingdom,to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.
Jesus Theocracy is a sure thing, inevitable, and I can't wait for that day. It's a gift that we can believe this before it happens. It's also love that his hand remains extended until the very last moment.

Biblical Correctness is Seeking and Perceiving Jesus' Parables that Lead to Becoming Born Again

“...who (Jesus), though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God has highly exalted Jesus and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:6-11

There is a secret key...a first step...that allows a person to accept the foolishness of God as wise, and believe the verses above. It's all in how a person perceives with the eyes of their heart not their physical eyes and has much to do with how one looks into the parables of Jesus.

Who has taken the time to understand the parables Jesus ( The Gate to Heaven) taught? Jesus taught in parables to sift out prideful hearts and beckon humble hearts. Jesus' parables are the locks and bolts on the gate to understanding who God is, and realizing what he is proclaiming in the Way the Truth and the Life. He hides (locks) himself from those who think they are strong and reveals (unlocks) himself to those who know they need Him as Savior. He rewards the diligent, thoughtful, humble, seeker.

“Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: “‘“You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.” For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.” Matthew 13:10-17 ESV

“Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”” John 3:5-8 ESV

The Israeli Defense Forces and God's Divine Execution of Judgement

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has been raised up to defend Israel in a time such as this.  The timing and success of Iron Dome and now David's Sling will be impressive in the coming smaller battles (Psalm 83), but what happens when Russia and Iran come swooping in with even bigger weapons in attempt to destroy the people of Israel and seize their resources? It will seem impossible that Israel would survive the "odds." But, read Jeremiah 49 and Ezekial 38 & 39 to find out. If you never believed God was alive and the Word of God is true, you soon will!

These are the Words of God Himself in Ezekial 39:

21“And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them. 22The house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God, from that day forward. 23And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. 24I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them.

The LORD Will Restore Israel

25“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name. 26They shall forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid, 27when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies’ lands, and through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. 28Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 29And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”

Israel's David's Sling Passes Final Round of Tests

What Kind Of Men Should Lead The Church

Notes: Appointing Elders Pt 1- Dr. Steve Hereford

-Titus 1:5 - Appointment of Elders
-Titus 1:6-9 - Elder qualifications that parallel 1Timothy 3
- Elder is synonymous with "Pastor," "Overseer," "Bishop," "Leader," "Ruler," "Shepherd" ( Ephesians 4:11, Acts 20:28, Hebrews 13:7)
- Why are Elders/Pastors not seen as Plural in the Word as written. There are more then one. It is not a singular context? There are leaders among leaders overseeing the Church. There is more need for plurality not singularity in leading the Church.
-Acts 20:28 - The Holy Spirit has made elders as overseers, who don't do everything, to shepherd the Church that was purchased through Jesus' blood. Jesus died for the Church and is Head over the Bride. All have a part in growing the Church
- Titus 2:10- Tasks of Elders is to, "not pilfer, but to show all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior."
- Titus was commissioned to set straight the leadership of the church. He was an Elder commissioned by the apostle Paul in Titus 1:4, because the affairs of the church or not rightly ordered. he was an apostolic agent for Paul's apostleship, and he was told to speak confidently.
- There is a major need for qualified elders/pastors in the Church.
-Waiting for adequate leadership, qualified people to oversee takes time. Ordination should not be taken to fast because the person will model and lead others. What kind of person is he? Sins, disciplined, character, qualified?
-To appoint elders is to put them in place of leadership and oversight. "Laying on of hands" is an Old Testament practice carried on into the present Numbers 27:18. Paul and Barnabas were set a part in Acts 13:2-3. In Acts 14:3 Elders are appointed or commissioned.
-Qualified people must be in ministry. Search Committees must be established for this important process. Men who have matured over time are good candidates.
- Ephesians 4:8-12- Elders are gifted by God. God gives these various gifts to the Church and they are called apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds/ pastors/ teachers/ elders/ bishops Acts 20:28/ overseers/ leaders Hebrews 13:7/ rulers.
-There is a plurality in scripture for church leadership - Acts 14:23 , Philippians 1:1
-There is a difference between pastors and deacons. Why do we have a plurality of deacons, but not a plurality of elders in our understanding of church leadership?
-There is more information in the New Testament about pastors then about deacons. 1 Timothy 3 is about deacons. Both men and women are deacons Acts 6, and Romans 16.
- A Deacon means servant.
- Why do we give deacons authority in the church as elders? This is not right. Deacons can be involved in the implementation of what the pastor/elder/bishops/overseer/shepherd/leader/ruler establish and teach, but they are not to establish in authority. Acts 6 is the Pattern.
- Deacons are signed so elders are not pulled away from the word and prayer.
-1 Timothy 5:17 = Pastors/Elders stand first and preside. They are hard workers in teaching, leading, modeling the scripture and sound doctrine.
- Their presiding duties are 1 Thess 5:12-13, Hebrews 13:7,17, 1 Peter 5:2-3
- Preaching and Teaching are different. It's the difference between proclaiming versus detailed instruction. Ephesians 4:11 Pastor/Teachers
- Elders protect the church, expose and rebuke false teaching. Elders are to guard the church and will answer to Jesus himself. This is something to have a healthy fear about.
- " I scarcely prepare my messages with pleasure. It is the most irksome work." Spurgeon
- Elders Feed the flock, protect the flock, are immersed in the word so that they know the truth versus error. Elders go deep in the word because they understand that the theology helps him and the church in our daily lives. The people are to live what is taught.
- Misinterpretation of the word of God is a result of not being in the word regularly. Improper council results. God's measurement of leadership does not fluctuate. The book of Titus.
- Elders are not marred by a disgraceful or just cause for blame that could diminish their authority, general character, or qualification. Psalm 101:6
- Elders are not called to be producing a lot in the church; managing a lot; or adept at mobilizing others to service. All are good, but elders are to be godly leaders, modeling virtue and devotion to the Lord, excellent teachers.
- Mistakenly, many church pastors or elders view their role as a promoter, businessman, psychologist, executive, president, entertainer. This is sharply contrasted in the Bible in second Timothy 2 and 3 which describe the figure of responsibility and faithfulness. 1. Able Teachers, 2. Soldiers on active duty, 3. Athletes who compete according to the rules, 4. Farmers, 5. Careful Workman, 6. Useful Vessels, 7. Bond Servants etc. All are called to live accordingly.
- Pastors/Elders are not to be self grandizing, not glamorous,  but rather focused on winning lost souls, discipling, teaching, preaching, organizing wise decision makers, maintaining careful stewardship of finances, being in consistent and earnest prayer, disciplining of sinning members of the church, ordinating other qualified elders.
- Elders are to be above reproach meaning there is no obvious attitude or incident, habit, Marr or defect of character. He is not perfect, but above reproach as Philippians 2:14-15 says. Spotless, blameless followers. Elders, Servants and Members of the Church.
- Elders are above reproach in regards to complaining and arguing 2 Peter 3:14
- An Elder is a man of one woman. A one woman man. A husband of but one wife. Fidelity to one woman. Solomon and other Old Testament people do not qualify to lead the Church. This is stressing character not marital circumstances. This is not referring to biblical divorce, nor polygamy which is forbidden in the New Testament Scripture, nor remarried widowers, nor is it requiring elders to be married. The Apostle Paul was not married 1 Corinthians 9:5, but other leaders were. 1 Corinthians 7:2 is sexual fidelity to one woman and describing both inner and outer purity. How do you prevent sexual sin? A man and woman get married and they have sex together in marriage.
- A Pastor/ Elder is required to lead his family according to scripture. Titus 1:6. He is to have his home in order and children who are faithful in conduct and behavior. The elder is not responsible for the salvation of his children, but he is responsible if his children, who live in his home, are living wild rebellious lives. Is the requirement number six referring to children who are obedient to their father or requiring that all of his children have a saving faith? Godly parents cannot force their children into the faith. Children's conduct and ability of the elder to control his children's behavior is what is required. 1 Timothy 3:5  mentions the elder has managerial skills over his family. Only God can save a person as seen in Ephesians 2:8-9. Faith is a gift as is repentance. The elder is responsible for sharing both the good and the bad of the gospel so that people and his own children can intelligently accept or reject the truth. The elder/pastor both reads and teaches scripture to the children. The elder is not responsible for the salvation of his children. He could have six children and five of them follow the Lord, and one chooses to rebel and they were all under the same leadership. Does the one rebellious child disqualify the elder from being a minister? No.
- Children's behavior is what verse six is referring to. Responsible and faithful family members, loyal,  dutiful, good citizens, faithful children.
And elders children should not live a wild immoral lifestyle. This is a disqualification for eldership. Before God we are justified by faith. Before men we are justified by works. Paul vs. James. The fruit/ evidence of salvation is good works.
- An elder or pastor might need to step down for a season to help his child grow out of wild living if that is an issue. Giving in to sin constantly is a measure of character. Use the rod of correction for effective conviction.
- 1 Peter 4:3 = Dissipation--> vs 4
- The gospel is foolishness to the world, but to those who are saved by it , it is the power of God. Insubordination is rebellion. It is someone who thinks they are not subject to authority/society/governing bodies. Children reflect the elder.
- Titus 1:7-8- The Overseers/ Pastors watch others, they see what is going on in the Church Body. He is a good household manager and manager of the Church.
- The elder is not self-pleasing, nor refusing to listen to others, is teachable, he is not self-interested, nor stubborn and arrogant, nor overbearing nor insensitive. He is not quick-tempered, nor has a propensity to anger for this is foolish to be easily flared. Proverbs 14:17, Proverbs 19:22.
- A Pastor is not continually alongside the wine. Not purposing to get drunk. Elders don't associate in bars, taverns, scenes, clubs.
- Elders are not violent nor do they strike others.
- Pastors and Leaders of the Church Body are not lovers of money. A lust for gold is the last corruption of a degenerate man. "I need a raise." Elders have no say so in what they make. Never put a price on your ministry. Look forward to, "well done good and faithful servant." This is the difference between a true pastor/shepherd and a false pastor.
- There is a lot of weight to be a Godly leader in the Church whom Jesus is Head and whom he shed his blood for.
-Who should baptize people in the church? The leaders and elders, rulers, pastors, shepherds, bishops, should baptize because they are connected/commissioned to the oversight of the ministry.
-The process of finding an Elder/Pastor takes time-maybe up to 2 to 3 years. -Looking into each others lives through Bible studies, in the home, asking questions, watching, evaluating is necessary. Being involved in ministry is like living in a fish bowl. Everyone must know that you are qualified as a Pastor, Elder, Bishop, Overseer, Shepherd etc.
-Qualified elders will select qualified deacons.
-it is good to have multiple elders in a church. They can fill in if main Pastor leaves or no longer attends, they can provide accountability, they can teach, they can make decisions. There is familiarity in leadership to all in the Church, they helps morality and ministry.
- Alexander Strouch- Author of Biblical Eldership and Deacons"
-1 Timothy 3 contains Deacon qualifications also.
- 2 Corinthians 13:4 - examine yourself to see if you are in the faith as an elder.
- All are to examine themselves in the church.
- Richard Baxter- Author of topics about looking into your own life.

What Does A Healthy Church Look Like?

Notes: The Head And The Body - Bob Hoekstra

-The Head of Jesus Christ is God the Father
-The Head of the Church is Jesus Christ - Colossians 1:18
-Jesus said he would build his Church-Matthew 16:18
-The Church is Jesus's body. The spiritual entity, not a religious institution. Growth of the body relies on the head-strategic, fundamental, intentional leadership of Christ through the Holy Spirit.
-Use the physical visible realities of the body to relate to how Jesus leads the Church by the Spirit through decision, adjustment, information, maintenance, direction, coordination etc.
-Ephesians 1:22-the totality of Christ's headship = he has authority in every arena of the Church.
-He is head over all leaders, gatherings, and meetings. Christ is in charge and has authority.
-Weak churches are a result of Christ not functioning as the head.
- Every knee will bow to Jesus. Will leaders of the Church allow Jesus to be in charge of all things? It's design; it's growth; The Elders/Pastors (Plural) must be committed to the headship of Jesus over all things, and filled with the Spirit.
-"The Waning Authority of Christ in the Church" by A.W. Tozer (pamphlet)
-The Church cannot be without Jesus being head of those commissioned leaders.
-Ephesians 4:15-Jesus is standard and expression of the church and growth, maturity to become more and more like him. This occurs by walking in truth in love. Relating with Grace produces church growth. Love is critical in dealing with church truth. Balancing love with truth. Balancing truth with love. Jesus is truth and love.
-Ephesians 4:16-Jesus is the source for the whole body. Everything must come from Christ for life and godliness. God wants to join us and knit us together.
-Not just a religious gathering to just be scattered on a weekly basis. Build into each other's lives with sharing and caring. Not, each member only joined to the head and no other member. The arm is not connected to the head. It is connected to the shoulder. The finger is not connected to the head, it is connected to the hand, hand to wrist and wrist to forearm etc. The church must function as a body does, and it must have a head that rules and guides.
-Members relating to members = a joint, and a joint supplies to every member through the head, by supporting movement, caretaking. If one member suffers all suffer. What is my part? What member am I? Am I a part of a Church ruled by Christ or man?
-Colossians 1:19-pay strict attention to, trust in and obey Christ in order to establish the ligaments of the body. Ligaments are what hold the joints in place. Ligaments are the strong love bonds between the members. "I love him and her." Love covers a multitude of sins. Joints popping out of socket is a result of no strong ligaments.
-It is the will of God that the body grows. We need a growth that is from God according to the will of God. Man can add man to grow the size of the church, but there are 20 member churches that are spiritual power houses for God compared to weak churches made of thousands of members. What is the difference? Does Holy Spirit conviction lead the church? The church will grow quantitatively by Jesus Christ alone. Quantitative growth should not be a concern of those in authority of the church (Pastors/Elders). This is Christ's concern.
-Acts 2:47- is church growth founded on the priority and motive of quality and healthy growth. The Lord adds to his church.
-Qualitative spiritual development is Acts 4:31 and spiritual power of life goes forth to the members when Pastors/Elders hold fast to the head of the church, Jesus Christ, through His Word.
-Focus on quality not quantity. These are all unseen spiritual realities. We must be filled with the Holy Spirit to be the Church.
-Psalms 127:1-unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain who build. Who causes the hammer to hammer? The Lord is the home builder. Jesus is not only Designer, but also Builder of the Church.
-The Bible is the tool and foundation to design and build the church.
-Matthew 7:24-27 = Foundations= How people respond to God's Word. Rock vs. Sand Foundations.
-Jesus lived a perfect life with the storms following him all the way through. Same as Job. How do I build on the rock foundation? Even the foolish man heard the word of God, but he did not obey it or do it.  Let people leave if they will not listen to the quality of the Word.
-Be a doer of the Word in order to get on the right foundation. Through faith, obey the Word. Be like Mary and the way she received the new she was going to conceive through the Holy Spirit.
-There is a vertical element to living this life; to being the Church; to leading the Church. It is not merely horizontal.
-The ability of the Word of God to become the unshakable foundation of our lives and marriages and churches is dependent upon receiving, believing and walking the Word of God out.
-Ephesians 1:22-23 = The church is a living spiritual organism whose fullness is in Christ. Not tradition, itself, nor moderninity. The Fullness of Christ brings fullness of life to us.
-Is the Church your's or Christ's?
-There becomes Abundance in Life by raising a family up in the Church whose members and leaders ( all whom are servants) are allowing Jesus to be the Designer and Builder.
-Don't add a little church to peoples lives. Be the Church and live life abundantly. The Church must exemplify the fullness of life Jesus Christ.
-Families meeting at the meeting place all functioning together is a living organism. It's the Church.
-Get to the fullness of Jesus who fills all in all. "This is not just another meeting to go to. This Church meeting is an extension of Jesus who is the head." This is a healthy perspective.
-If the Church is not reflecting the Biblical model for the Church is Jesus the Head of that Church?
-What is the Biblical model Christ has established for Church Design and Growth?
-Wisdom and guidance is Proverbs 3:5-6 and 7-10. Lean not on our own understanding! Jesus is the builder of the home. Rise up and walk into every situation with this confidence in the promise: And he shall direct my path.
-Relationships= Individual-friendship-marriage-family-church-community-nation.
-In Acts 20:32 there are two aspects of the grace of God. God's word can change lives through the unfolding of his grace. Aspect 1: it builds up and Aspect 2: it gives an inheritance. We are all familiar with #2, being changed by the undeserved inheritance of grace by being Born Again. We have undeserved forgiveness of our sins and we understand this most, but we do not understand and are more unfamiliar with #1: the grace of God that is able to build us up and grow us spiritually through his Word. Growth follows birth. It is a tragedy if spiritual growth and maturity does not happen after becoming Born Again. It is a tragedy if the Church is not founded, designed, and built by the Lord Jesus himself.
