Watch! Beloved, Watch!

Jesus encouraged his Bride to remain watchful and to be paying attention to the things that mattered during his time on earth and after he resurrected. In Mark 14:34 Jesus told his followers, "My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." He said this in Gethsemane as he started to take the emotional, mental and psychological sins of mankind upon himself, and before he went to be crucified for you and me. He knew the time was NOW to be ready and watching ...even then. He was ready in Gethsemane, but were his followers? In Revelation 3:2, Jesus says, "Be Watching! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God." This verse in Revelation is a warning to all followers of Christ to snap into a sober mind and repentant heart, and it references the here and NOW that we live in today. God wants us to receive his goodness in place of our sinfulness through faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus , and to not keep on sinning. We do this by confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord. "In fact, it says,“The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” 

The world is speeding along, out of control and not attentive to the warnings of God. And many who claim to be following Jesus are not watching. They do not know the context of what "being watchful" means, and they are deaf and blind to the sirens, the dangers and the warnings that God has faithfully revealed in his WORD that are right in front of us. People thought Noah was crazy, and the ARK was right in front of them for over a century!  Jesus' perspective at the time he proclaimed Matthew 16:2-4 is the same perspective we should have now, and we should notice that even though the people of the world, and the religious leaders, political leaders, economical leaders, entertainment leaders are noticing coming storms and problems, they are missing the presence of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, in our day....right in front of their faces. Most of these people are puppets in the hand of those who know that God exists and Jesus is His Son but who willfully reject him. Even these are missing the power of Jesus' words. Matthew 16:24 is Jesus speaking, “You know the saying, ‘Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow; red sky in the morning means foul weather all day.’ You know how to interpret the weather signs in the sky, but you don’t know how to interpret the signs of the times! Only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign, but the only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah. Then Jesus left them and went away."   Jesus knows all that was going to happen, and the SIGNS of the times he was referring to are upon us now. Those watching know it. Those who are not watching are being successfully distracted and deceived from knowing the truth about Jesus Christ for them personally, and/or are rejecting the truth about Jesus willfully.

The calendar above is a Hebrew Civil/Religious and Gregorian Calendar combined and it highlights significant events, holidays, feast days, solar, lunar eclipses, significant historical events and readings throughout. September is a very active month where it looks like many things are converging...and it is right on time. As a follower of Christ, I have been watching to not be deceived, and I am eagerly awaiting for Christ's return. But the reality is that the battle rages within our hearts and minds to be sober in mind and repentant in heart, to fight the good fight of faith in the integrity of it all for Christ and His righteousness.  Satan, to the very last second, will do whatever he can to keep us from being all we are supposed to be in Christ. But we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus: "No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us." Romans 8:37. No one is more powerful then King Jesus and He is sovereign from the beginning to the end!

It is clear that all the forces of evil and good are converging in heaven, and on earth, and the great and mighty Day of The Lord is imminent. The Ark of God, "Jesus Christ", is about to shelter those who are truly His. John 17:6-8 is a prayer of Jesus to his Father regarding those who are His, "I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me."

Do you believe Jesus Christ was sent by His Father to die for your personal sins so that you might be saved and live with him forever in Spirit and in Truth? That's the most important question you have to answer right now.
